The Local Education Authority (LEA) allocates all pupil places within the school.

Forms for Admissions:

Reception 2017/18

If your child turns 4 before 31st August 2017, you will need to apply for a primary school place. The deadline for your application is yet to be confirmed. You can make your application and find helpful tips and information online here. If you need help or advice please visit one of the Parents’ Information Events as detailed in the leaflet.

We have 60 places in our Reception Year, if we are oversubscribed, places will be allocated in accordance with our Admissions Policy which can be found on this website.

If you apply for a place at the Good Shepherd, please ensure that you contact the school and complete our Supplementary Form, which we need to have completed and returned by 15th January 2017 at 17.00.

We have two open days for parents to come and look around the school; Tuesday 15th November at 14.00 or Wednesday 16th November at 10.30.

Correspondence to our new Reception Parents 2017/18

On Monday 12th June and Wednesday 14th June at 14:00-15:00, new intake Reception children and parents are invited to the school for an informal discussion on the arrangements for their child starting school and to receive information regarding routines and practices. Home visits will also be arranged by Reception Class Teachers.

At the meeting, Parents were provided with an EYFS Booklet as well as THIS letter. They were also given an admissions pack that parents need to complete and return to school as soon as possible along with birth certificate/passport/baptismal certificate. Appeals

Parents have the right to appeal against the Governors’ refusal to admit their child/children. To appeal against the decision the parents should write to the Clerk to the Governors. If your child is refused admission, you are invited to appeal in writing to the Chair of Governors at the school. Appeals will be heard by an Independent Panel.
