Class Attendance Winner Term 5 - 2L!!

2L have managed to achieve the highest class attendance last term ! To celebrate, 2L were awarded with attendance pencils, a bag of sweets and a special sticker! Well done 2L!

 


 


We have done some lovely Art work in 2L! We learnt all about Poland and we did some Polish paper art cutting called Wycinanki.

 Making Buckets - Great Fire of London

The children investigated the best material to make a bucket from. They had a range of materials that they had to choose from and they learnt about what materials were waterproof and what materials weren’t. They found out that the materials that were waterproof were the best materials to make the bucket out of because it held the water better!

KS1 Christmas Play

Our Christmas play this year was ‘Children Around the World’. The children performed to the parents on Wednesday 7th December and Thursday 8th December. The play was about bringing all the countries together to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The children all worked well together. We were really proud!


 Science: Melting Chocolate cakes!

In Science we have been learning about Materials and changing materials. We have looked at lots of different materials and foods how they are changed by heating. We tried it out with Chocolate. We melted the chocolate and made chocolate rice crispy cakes! They were delicious! 

 


Whizz Fizz Boom - Robots!

These are the robots that the children have made at home for their homework! Miss Shieds wanted to celebrate them as they are fantastic!


ThinkTank Museum Visit - 1st December 2016

Whizz Fizz Boom WOW Day

Year 2 had a “Whizz Fizz Boom” WOW day on Thursday 3rd November! They made bath bombs, designed inventor’s goggles and enjoyed lots of other activities!


  Rumble in the Jungle - Music and Art Day

We had fun making lots of lovely jungle music and we created a lovely picture using paint and pastels in the style of Henri Rousseau.

Here are just a few examples of the amazing rumble in the jungle pieces of homework, Miss Shields was very impressed with all of the hard work and effort that had gone into researching about the rainforest and jungle. She has learnt lots of great facts!

  Meet the Teacher Evening - 28th September 2016

On Tuesday 27th September 2016 18.00-19.00, there was a Key Stage 1 (Yr1 & 2) open evening. This gave parents the opportunity to find out about what goes on inside the classroom and a little bit more about school life at The Good Shepherd.

On Tuesday 5th September, Year 2 enjoyed their first WOW day of the Year. This term Year 2's topic will be 'Rumble in the Jungle' so the children dressed up as jungle animals!
