Coronavirus/Covid-19 Update

Thank you all so much for your continued patience with the current situation.

We are continuing to follow government advice and run our provision as normal. Please do not send your child into school if they or anyone in your home has symptoms. If you are in doubt, please keep your child at home and follow Public Health England advice on self-isolation and use our normal systems to report your child's absence.

In a bid to reduce the amount of time children and staff are on site, from today we will be suspending all booster sessions across the school.

Music lessons will be continuing until such times as we are unable to do so. These will take place in extremely small groups/1:1 settings.

We will not be selling toast in schools on Tuesday mornings until further notice.

We have now suspended key stage and phase assemblies but are continuing with our class prayers.

We are continuing to remind children about the importance of hand washing and ensuring that they have lots of opportunities throughout the day to do this.

From Monday 21st March all before and After School Sports clubs will be suspended.

Finally, we are receiving numerous requests for work to be sent home. It is not reasonable for staff to prepare individual packs of work for children as the situation changes daily and there are many extra demands on them currently in preparing for the possibility of a full closure. Given the ever changing picture, work will only be sent home in the event of a blanket closure. In the meantime, if your child is at home, please encourage them to practice reading and also to go on TT Rockstars, Purplemash and parents can register for free on Oxford Owls reading website, where there are a number of free online books to read.

I am very grateful for all the staff who have come into school and are working so hard to ensure that the children can continue their routines. However, I cannot rule out the impact of staff being forced to self-isolate and the implications that this would have on our provision, with the possibility of having to make the decision to close the school through lack of staff.

There will be further updates but in the meantime we will do all we can to maintain order and a sense of normality for our children.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs C Dodds
