World Book Day 2026 at The Good Shepherd 📚
We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day at The Good Shepherd. It was wonderful to see how involved everyone was, and we would like to say a huge thank you to our parents and carers for supporting the children and helping to make the day so special.
Our staff always enjoy World Book Day just as much as the children, and they planned a range of exciting lessons and activities inspired by books and stories throughout the day.
Miss Ashleigh also ran a World Book Day competition for reading in weird and wonderful places. She loved looking through all of the fantastic entries, and there will be Waterstones vouchers for an EYFS, KS1 and KS2 winner.
Mrs Dodds will also be awarding Amazon vouchers for the best costume entry in EYFS, KS1 and KS2, along with other goodies for those who took part.
We also received World Book Day tokens and exchanged these for books, meaning every child was able to take home a new book to enjoy.
We hope the day has inspired our children to continue developing their love of reading. Remember, it doesn’t matter what children read — the most important thing is that they read for pleasure.
