From Monday 8th December 2025, new gates will be installed at The Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School. The work will take around two weeks, and during this time there will be limited access through the pedestrian gate during the school day.
Because the engineers will be working on the gates, the pedestrian entrance will often need to be locked, and staff and engineers will have to manually let visitors in.
This means that anyone arriving during the school day (09.00 – 15.00) may need to wait longer than usual before we can open the gate.
How you can help us:
• Please make every effort to arrive on time for morning drop-off and afternoon collection.
• Avoid bringing forgotten items (such as lunches, water bottles or PE kits) to the office after the school day has started, as gaining access will be difficult and may take time.
• If you do need to visit during the day, a sign on the gate will include the school office phone number (01604 714399). Please call when you arrive, the office will then radio the engineers to let you in.
We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but the new gates will greatly improve the safety and security of our school.
