At the Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School, we value Design and Technology as an important part of our children’s entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum. Design and Technology is an inspiring and mostly practical subject. For the children at The Good Shepherd, we intend for our children to use their creativity and imagination, designing and making products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. This subject aims to be as cross-curricular as possible as we aim for the children to draw on their mathematics, science, computing and art skills to aid them. Design and Technology lessons should encourage children to evaluate past and present design and technology, to ensure that they develop an understanding of the impact of this subject and its leaders in the wider world.
