Religious Education

In the light of our School Mission Statement ‘Following Jesus, The Good Shepherd, in all we say and do’, we believe that our faith is the centre around which the planning, teaching and learning in our school is focused. The Gospel Values provide the core of our aims, objectives and behaviour in providing the sure foundation on which the seeds of faith can be nourished and flourish in the hearts and minds of everyone in our school community. Our children have a strong sense of belonging to the school community and value each other with respect.

Come and See

Come and See is a Catholic Primary Religious Education programme for EYFS, Key stages 1 and 2. The programme of study, written by a group of experienced diocesan advisors was introduced across the Federation in September 2012. The Catechism of the Catholic Church addresses the search for meaning in life. God’s initiative in Revelation who comes to meet us and our response of faith. (cf. CCC26) This pattern guides the structure of the programme and informs the process of each topic, opened up through; Explore, Reveal and Respond.
